Where can I get a pregnancy test? The earliest a pregnancy test can be done is on the first day of a missed period. You will need an early morning sample of urine which will have the highest concentration of the pregnancy hormone (HcG) if it is present. Collect the urine in a clean container.
Alternatively specimen bottles are available from chemists.
Yes. These tests are available from chemists. It is very important to read the instructions and follow them carefully. If in doubt about your result, have your test confirmed at your local crisis pregnancy centre.
Your result will be given to you verbally and you will be shown the test stick to confirm the result for yourself. No-one else will be informed as it is a confidential service but if the result is positive we would suggest that you consult your GP.
At Choices, the counsellor who does your test will be available for as long as you need to talk about your result and discuss your options with you.
