Mary's Story*

Mary was a young mum who found out she was expecting a baby during lockdown. She came to us because she was struggling and couldn't afford to buy essential clothes and equipment for her baby.
As we listened to Mary's story, she told us that she was feeling very isolated and anxious. Her young family had just been made homeless and had been moved into temporary accommodation. Mary's first universal credit payment had not yet come through and she had no money for food.
Thanks to generous donations from people like you, we were able to connect with local partners to quickly provide her family with food and essential items. Your support enabled us to give Mary good quality, second hand clothes for her baby, befriending support to combat her isolation and she has now completed our Circle of Security parenting course.
During the past 8 months, we have supported Mary throughout her transition to motherhood and beyond. While she still faces challenges, Mary has told us that she feels more able to face the future with hope!
